Frequently asked questions
Why do Domino TTO printers need near-edge ribbons specifically?
Domino V-Series overprinters use a near-edge printhead design that prints from the very edge of the printhead onto the flexible substrate as it passes underneath. This requires a ribbon formulation engineered for that geometry — standard flat-head TTR will not produce optimal print quality on a near-edge printer. Our AG15N-AG18N range is specifically formulated for near-edge printing.
What ribbon length should I use for my Domino TTO?
For continuous packaging lines, larger rolls (800-1200 m) reduce changeover frequency and downtime. For intermittent printers like the V120i, 600 m rolls are usually sufficient. We can supply any length up to 1200 m on request.
Can you supply ribbons for both intermittent and continuous Domino TTO modes?
Yes. Our near-edge range covers both modes — AG15N and AG16N work well for intermittent applications (V120i, V220i), while AG17N and AG18N are formulated for the higher print speeds of continuous TTO (V320i, V420i).
